Great love can change small things into great ones

IMG_0956“Great love can change small things into great ones, and it is only love which lends value to our actions.  And the purer our love becomes, the less there will be within us for the flames of suffering to feed upon, and the suffering will cease to be a suffering for us; it will become a delight! By the grace of God, I have received such a disposition of heart that I am never so happy as when I suffer for Jesus, whom I love with every beat of my heart.”
(St. Faustina, Divine Mercy in My Soul Diary, entry 303, Page 140)

St. Faustina exemplifies the true example of holiness.  She embraces her own suffering and accepts it all for the sake of Jesus.  This is love…Love for God the Father, His Son Our Lord & Savior and The Holy Spirit.  She set forth for us an example of what it means to seek God with all your heart, all your mind and your strength.  She strived to perfect what it meant to live a virtuous life.  Her unbridled faith achieved an intimate and inseparable relationship with God.  God desires an intimate and inseparable relationship with each of us.   With respect, I admire her passionate faith and desire to live God’s will for her.  It is my prayer for all of us that God gives us the grace to discover the essence that we are made from Love to release this Love to others with the intent of bringing souls to Him. We all search… for Love…a place to belong…a place to experience Divine love.  In our search to understand our very purpose, the purpose of life, we try to satisfy our soul’s longing for love.  We are called by Him to love; Him first and our neighbor second.  St. Faustina teaches us that there is no value in our actions without the presence of love.  Her words are simple yet profound.  Her message explains that our actions without love are not only empty but will never be satisfying.  It’s the way God designed it.  He wants to live in us and fill us.  This saturation satisfies us.  St. Faustina reminds us about the power of the willingness to be transformed and sanctified; there is great value in the soul’s obedience to purify our minds and hearts.   Her words convey that, “the purer our love becomes, the less there will be within us for the flames of suffering to feed upon, and the suffering will cease to be a suffering for us.” (entry 303).  We will suffer here in this life; it is the consequence of the fall.  Through an ungrateful heart we separated ourselves from the Father.   However, St. Faustina gives us hope.  As we follow Jesus, He allows us to transform our minds and open our hearts to be filled with the Father’s Love…there will be less for the ‘flames suffering to feed upon.”

Love heals…                Love endures all…

“These sufferings set my soul afire with love for God and for immortal souls.  Love endures everything, love is stronger than death, love fears nothing.” (St. Faustina, Divine Mercy in My Soul Diary, 2008; entry 46, page 24)
